Wingless Sprints Australia Drivers Page

Wingless Sprints Australia (WSA) introduces the Wingless Sprintcar racing option - designed primarily to bring back the emphasis on driver and set-up ability and remove those who race only with their cheque book.

WSA introduces the 400ci Chevrolet engine - bored .030" to become a 406ci - with maximum cubic inch displacement of 410ci. This locally assembled engine uses brand new components including World block, Scat crank and rods, Keith Black pistons, Edelbrock alloy heads, Victor Junior manifold, brand new 750 cfm alcohol carburettor, 6al MSD ignition system with 6,800rpm limiter, Yella Terra roller rockers, competition camshaft and solid lifters, Schoenfeld headers, reduction starter motor and ring gear.

Our experience shows you cant stop some car owners from spending huge amounts on their powerplants, not to mention the maintenance costs. This is why WSA have introduced our 'crate engine'.

Now you have the opportunity to become a part of a genuine V8-Powered, Open Wheel, Wingless Sprintcar racing without having to mortgage the house to do so. More importantly, you get this opportunity to race on a playing field that is fair and equitable to every competitor.

Car Rules:

The rules are intended to provide a more affordable form of open wheel racing, without detracting from the racing spectacle, and are not open for interpretation as they are intended to be enforced equally by everyone. All issues/questions are to be put forward to the WSA. If you have any ideas about misinterpreting or 'fudging' the rules to suit yourself, then stop NOW as your stay at Wingless Sprints Australia will be a short one.

Why Wingless Sprints Australia?

For too long now "cheap versions of Sprintcar racing" have served very little to our sport and most are just seen to be poor imitations. To be noticed and recognised you need to stand out from the crowd. That is why this formula has been put together as the Wingless Sprintcar - the name says it all. The race fan immediately has recognition of what the vehicle is that you are driving; the same cannot be said for a myraid of other divisions.

WSA Promotion:

With our history of class building and promotion, ask yourself the last time that your section was regulary featured in the press or on television. WSA management's record speaks for itself from the emergence of the AMCA Nationals racing division, featured regularly in the press and on pay and free-to-air television.

Area Franchises:

Area franchises will become available. Direct these business opportunity enquires with WSA's Dale Matthews on 0438 845 419

Not Another Division!

You're right, there are too many divisions, but to reduce the number you need to give the competitors somewhere to go, a place where they can afford to race, a division that treats the rule book with sanctity, where management treats each driver as a valued client and, finally, a division where the emphasis is on promotion and cost-effective racing.

If you value any of the above, then you should be racing a wingless sprint with WSA.
If this isn't enough for you, just imagine what it would be like to watch a full field of V8-powered wingless sprints with each driver in a position to win on their ability and not the amount of technology that can be brought.

Looking forward to seeing you in a wingless sprint.
