Introducing Wingless Sprints Australia

The history of motorsport tells us time and time again, that to go fast you need to spend money! That's ok if you have it! But what if you have a limited budget and a ton of talent? Well Wingless Sprints maybe what your looking for.

The cars are based obviously on the most popular form of sprint racing in America, Wingless Sprints Australia gives you the opportunity to go racing in a national division where the emphasis is on driver ability and not the amount of technology that can be "brought".

It goes without saying that any divisions success depends on its ability to entertain our most precious asset "the paying public" well with Wingless Sprint racing and its unique "back em in and wheel lifting characteristics it is just about a sure bet that these light weight oval track demons will quickly become a spectator favourite.

The core to this performance and equality on the racetrack is Australia's first 410 cubic inch "crate engine". By 2012 all competitors will be required to run the sub twenty thousand dollar engine (approx one third the cost of the winged version). With every competitor utilising the same engine, competition is sure to be fierce with DRIVER TALENT being the most critical feature.

As Wingless Sprints continues to grow in Australia you will see some cars with the now obsolete 372 sprint engine and current SCCA 360 engine competing as drivers to get the taste of Wingless competition, also allowable to 2012 are the engines from super rod, V8 dirt modified and super sedan divisions, these car / engine combinations will either be restricted or allowed other car enhancements to keep the focus on fairness and performance parity on the race track while the transition to full crate engine competition begins in 2012.

Along with tyre, weight and engine rpm restrictions Wingless Sprint competition will focus on reducing the running costs of top line open wheel racing!! This may just be the opportunity for you to race in what will be Australian Speedways fastest growing V8 premier open wheel division.
